The primary goal of this research is to gain an in-depth understanding of consumers’ in-vehicle connectivity behavior and needs. Specific research objectives include:

  • Understand consumers’ everyday commuting behavior in terms of routine, time, route, etc.
  • Assess need for and use of connected tech devices and accessories in-vehicle
  • Capture sources of media content consumed in-vehicle, preferences for downloaded versus streaming content, and user mindfulness toward data consumption in general and in-vehicle
  • Gauge consumer awareness, relevance and purchase intent of single wire connection
  • Understand consumer awareness of in-vehicle tech upgrades to support smartphone connectivity requirements and perceived benefits and concerns regarding making such an upgrade
